Shameless Promotion Vol1: Designer ID

A humbling honor.

designerID
A couple of months ago I happened upon a wonderful new networking site specifically for designers called designerID. Within minutes of uploading my first portfolio images, the creator Brian Hock of Brian Hock Design called me and asked if he could do a video interview with me. Well of course I said yes, and now it’s on the site for all the world to enjoy. I use the term “enjoy” loosely because it’s really long and I think only immediate family would want to sit through the entire ordeal.

So why mention it? Well having my ugly mug on a website of that caliber is one of the most humbling things to happen to me all year. Just look at the interview with the guy above mine:Patrick Kampff, who designs footwear for Addidas in Brazil, or the other video interviewee Woody Pirtle, who has decades of industry experience and accolades to go with it. It’s such an honor to be sharing valuable screen real estate with the likes of these people and it’s what makes designerID such a great idea. That lil’ ol’ me could rub virtual shoulders with the titans of our field.

Ah… The Fountain… The Armilliary… River Street. Nice job – interesting too. Josh enjoyed it also. Knowing how warm and spring-like it has been of late, I did have to laugh at your snuggley jumper… You island person, you. You’re worse than Su.

You actually watched the whole thing? I’m touched! For your information, it was very cold that day…. it’s just that Savannah magic that makes it look so warm and friendly.
